KBS Song Festival 2011 themed K-Pop as a Hallyu's 1. Ojakgyo Family 2. My One And Only 3. Brain 4. TV Novel Dear My Sister 5. Gwanggaeto, The Great Conqueror KBS Song Festival 2011 themed K-Pop as a Hallyu's Held back on December 30th of last year, KBS Song Festival 2011 themed K-Pop as a Hallyu's favorite and gathered the top idol stars for a two-hour show of hit songs. Although the festival did not see performances from YG Entertainment (Big Bang, 2NE1) and C-JeS Entertainment (JYJ) artists because of scheduling conflicts and other tensions, the 2011 KBS Song Festival boasted strong performances from the likes of T-ara, Miss A, TVXQ, Wonder Girls, Girls' Generation, MBLAQ, Beast, Super Junior, Sistar, Secret, Davichi, Infinite, 2PM, and more. The show opened with the first theme, "Empire of K-Pop" featuring a line-up of performance by Infinite, T-ara, Davichi, Beast, Sistar, Kim Hyun Joong, Lee Seung Gi, Miss A, 4minute, U-Kiss, and Clover. The second half of the festival, "K-Pop to the World" kicked off with a special dance shuffle remix by DJ Koo who featured the year's hits from IU, f(x), Infinite, 4minute, and Super Junior who all showed off their version of the shuffle dance. They then gathered together to perform a group dance. Followed by Kim Hyung Joong, Wonder Girls performed in the second part as well as likes of MBLAQ, f(x), Secret, TVXQ, CN Blue, IU, Girls' Generation, and 2PM. The final stage was put on by none other than Super Junior who livened up the night. But nothing was more heartwarming and delightful than watching our favorite idol stars perform their rendition of veteran singers, Uhm Jung Hwa and Shim Soo Bong. Their songs were sung from the younger generation of singers, Wonder Girls, T-ara, Secret, Girls' Generation, 2PM, MBLAQ, Davichi, Sistar, CN Blue, and Beast. Furthermore, it was a nice touch to have global Hallyu stars, Kim Hyun Joong and Lee Seung Gi challenge themselves with the charismatic appeals of hot stars of early 2000s, Rain and Yoo Seung Jun respectively. Finally, the "Song of the Year 2011" award was given to Beast for their song, "Fiction" as selected by votes. We could have enjoyed more if the festival conducted had organized more joint stages performed by idol stars together. Nonetheless, the stages were lively and it was entertaining to watch the top idol stars get together on one stage at the 2011 KBS Song Festival which was another fun way to bring the songs of 2011 to a close.
